Archbishop Sentamu

Since it’s not been possible to hold the service of celebration and thanksgiving for the ministry of Archbishop Sentamu that had been planned for the weekend marking his retirement, the Diocese released a video on Friday evening 5th June 2020 offering recollections, messages of gratitude and a blessing on us as a diocese from the Archbishop himself.

We have been asked to share this with our congregations and encourage them to watch if they can; it will also be available via the diocesan Facebook page and Twitter feed. As the Archbishop and Margaret go with our thanks and our love, please do continue to hold them both in prayer.

Further, just a reminder that they will both be taking part in the 8.00am Act of Worship that will be broadcast across our BBC Local Radio stations on Sunday morning 7th June 2020 ( and the Church of England national online service for Trinity Sunday that will premiere at 9.00am that morning.
